PROVIDER
A downloadable game for Windows, Linux, and Android
If a ghost asks you to return something. You should return it.
- Awaken.
- Speak to the Dead.
- Brave the Zones.
- Provide for their requests.
- A̶w̵a̸k̸e̷n̸.
Provider is an esoteric exploration and action zone-punk game. Play as a Provider, a ferryman of sorts for those caught between spaces. Explore Excluded Zones, each unstuck at a different time and populated with creatures and hazards that are not meant to be survived. Use your cunning and curiosity to find what is requested, smite the creatures that stand in your way, and make it back before you're left stranded with no heat to keep you lucid. Stone Castles razed to the ground, souls cursed by greed, creatures feasting on blood and bone alike, and beings older than creation itself await you in PROVIDER.
Explore stories from across time and space, as you set lost souls right on their path to whatever comes next, all while battling back haunting echoes from the past and strange monsters that slip through the cracks in the universal fabric.

CACTUS!!!
This was such a cool game and I had fun with what I played!
Awesome! Happy you enjoyed your time, thanks for playing!!
The game hard crashes with the following error message when trying to enter the zoo:
"

I think this is the next to last level too which really sucks. Are you able to fix this?
Close to the last level! (I think there's like 2.5 more?)
Had this bug pop up inconsistently for me during dev, so you might be able to just reload the game and load the level fine. I never saw any testers report it so I dropped it to low-priority, but I have another year or so under my belt now so I'll crack the code back open and actually fix it instead of just sweeping it under the rug.
I reloaded the game 2-3 times and the problem occurred every time.
That sucks. I'm opening the source files now and I'll see if I can get that fixed for you :)
I've put up a new version(1021) that I think fixes the issues. Please let me know if you run into any further issues.
I updated and beat the zoo level but then had another hard crash while the bad guy was talking to the fox:

OK I think it's a new version of the same issue. I'll see if I can find and patch that and update ASAP.
These GM runtime updates are gonna be the death of me.
Found and patched the error. I think you should be clear(I was able to complete the whole game without issue)
I really appreciate your patiene and help.
Interesting premise, but the gameplay is pretty easy and dull. The small stories provided by the lost souls are fairly simple, and not particularly interesting or engaging. My inventory space was filled up, and a quest item seemed to disappear. In my frustration, I moved around ten items from my storage into my (already full) backpack, causing them to disappear, too. I'm not going to restart the game to get to the end, so I can only speak for about the first half of the game. Nevertheless, I do believe that I've got enough of an idea of what the game is like to say that it's just not very interesting.
